Three killed in earthquake in northwest China

An earthquake in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has killed three people and injured five others, China Central Television said.
Report informs via TASS that more than 12,000 people were evacuated from the seismic zone. The tremors destroyed about 50 houses and damaged another 78 buildings.
An earthquake of magnitude 7.1 occurred in Aksu County at 02:09 Beijing time, with the source located at a depth of 22 km. This was followed by aftershocks with a magnitude of up to 5.3.
