A group of hijackers blocked a cash van in Lyon, France, and stole several million euros. It was reported on Friday by the newspaper Le Progrès.
The criminals attacked a company car when it drove out of the Bank of France's building. Having blocked it with two minibusses, they, threatening with weapons, forced the collectors to open the door, after which they grabbed cash and set it on fire. The vehicles of robbers were later found burnt to the south of Lyon.
The prosecutor's office does not name the exact amount of stolen cash, but it reportedly was millions of euros. Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of this incident.
The investigation is underway.
