The Taliban said they would seize weapons and prosecute militants who shoot into the air in cities, Report informs referring to RIA Novosti.
Earlier, a Taliban spokesman and eyewitnesses said that the militants used cannonade to celebrate the capture of Panjshir, the only province not controlled by the movement. The Taliban assured the residents of Kabul that the shooting was related to the celebration. Representatives of the movement’s leadership called on the militants to stop firing.
“The deputy leader of the Taliban, Mohammad Yaqoob, has issued a series of orders against those who shoot in the air. Starting tomorrow, everyone who fires in the air in Kabul or other cities will have their weapons seized. Such actions are detrimental to the treasury, and their perpetrators will be held accountable,” reads a statement on the Twitter account of the movement.
