Switzerland to send 50 military, 4 combat aircraft to Germany for NATO exercises

Switzerland will send 50 of its troops and 4 F/A-18 fighter jets to participate in the NATO Tiger Meet exercises taking place from June 3 to 13 in Schleswig, Report informs referring to TASS.

The pilots will deepen their knowledge in the field of air defense and practice conducting joint operations.

“Swiss Air Force pilots will fly to Germany on four F/A-18 aircraft to deepen their knowledge and capabilities in the field of transnational air defense,” the Swiss government noted. They will practice tactical actions, as well as “planning and conducting joint air warfare operations.”

The Tiger Meet exercise, which takes place annually, will involve 50 Swiss military personnel. In total, about 1,500 military personnel, more than 50 combat aircraft and 10 helicopters from 10 countries will be involved. In addition to Switzerland, these are Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, US, Türkiye, France and the Czech Republic.

Switzerland has been participating in the Tiger Meet since 2004 as part of NATO’s Partnership for Peace program.
