Swedish government to announce new aid package to Ukraine

The Swedish government will soon announce a new aid package of 1.4 billion krona ($134 million) to Ukraine, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said at a press conference on December 11, Report informs.

According to him, this is Sweden's biggest support for Ukraine so far within the framework of bilateral aid. The prime minister said that 86 million dollars of the stated amount will be allocated to the fund created by the World Bank to support Ukraine's basic infrastructure—energy, housing, healthcare, and transport. Another 300 million krona ($28.7 million) will be transferred to the account of the Environment and Energy Fund for Ukraine, established by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

$9.6 million will be allocated to UN food programs, $7.2 million to UNESCO for the construction of shelters in schools and kindergartens, and $2.4 million will be distributed through defense, emergency, and civil administration channels.
