Swedish Defense Ministry bans employees from using TikTok

The Defense Ministry of Sweden has banned using the TikTok app on Swedish service phones, Sveriges Radio said, Report informs via TASS.
Those in the military who already have TikTok installed are told to delete the application.
The reason for the decision is that the app belongs to a Chinese company and, allegedly, its ability to collect user data, which can then fall into the hands of Chinese government agencies.
Earlier, the European Commission and the Council of the EU announced a ban on the use of TikTok in the work phones of their employees. Similar bans were also introduced for civil servants in the United States and Canada.
