Japan's political landscape is experiencing a significant shift as public support for the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) has plummeted to a historic low.

Report informs that, according to a recent nationwide public opinion survey conducted by Asahi, only 19% of respondents expressed support for the LDP's policies. This marks the first time since April 2001 that the party's approval rating has fallen below the 20% threshold.

In May, the party's support stood at 24%, indicating a sharp decline in just a month.

Furthermore, the survey revealed that 64% of respondents disapprove of the policies implemented by the current Japanese government, led by Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. This figure has risen from 62% in the previous survey, highlighting growing public discontent with the administration's performance.
