Kyrgyzstan has suspended the search operation for two Iranian climbers who went missing on Peak Pobeda, Report informs, citing the country's Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).
“All search operations have been stopped, and it remains unclear whether they will resume later this year,” a ministry spokesperson told TASS, citing severe weather conditions in the area where the climbers disappeared.
The missing mountaineers, Maryam Pilehvari and Hasan Seyfollah, arrived in Kyrgyzstan in early August to attempt the ascent. Their last known contact was on August 12. A drone deployed to survey the area failed to locate them.
