A Ryanair plane flying from Vienna to Tel Aviv had to change course and land in Paphos in Cyprus due to the threat of rocket fire, according to the Krone newspaper, Report informs referring to TASS.
“A Ryanair passenger plane flying from Vienna and already over Israel had to turn around on October 9 morning, shortly before landing at Tel Aviv airport, and was diverted to Paphos in Cyprus. Many Austrians are unable to fly out of Israel due to flight cancellations,” the newspaper writes.
The plane had to be redirected due to the threat of missile fire. At the same time, the company itself refers to the lack of permission to take off, Krone notes.
According to the Austrian Foreign Ministry, about 100 citizens of the country are trying to leave Israel.
