Russian Consulate General asks Türkiye info on church shooting

The Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Istanbul has asked information from the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs in connection with the detention of a Russian citizen after the shooting incident in a church, Report informs referring to TASS.
The incident occurred around 11:40 local time on January 28 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in the Sariyer district. Two masked assailants opened fire during a service, killing a Turkish citizen born in 1972.
As Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya told reporters, police detained 47 people on suspicion of involvement in the shooting, including citizens of Russia and Tajikistan.
