Michelle Obama: Trump is the wrong president for the US

Former First Lady Michelle Obama pronounced Donald Trump unfit for the US presidency in an impassioned speech at the Democratic National Convention on Monday night. The party attempted to present a broad base of support for Joe Biden’s candidacy, Report says, citing CNN.

Mrs. Obama accused Mr. Trump of a “total lack of empathy.” She said his administration had spread “chaos and division” when Americans were looking for “leadership and consolation” during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Donald Trump is the wrong president for our country,” Mrs. Obama said in a pre-recorded speech. “He has had more than enough time to prove that he can do the job, but he is clearly in over his head. He cannot meet at this moment. He cannot be who we need him to be for us. It is what it is.”

“If you think things cannot possibly worsen, trust me, they can, and they will if we don’t make a change in this election,” she said. “If we want to be able to look our children in the eye after this election, we have to reassert our place in American history.”
