Results of Moldova’s EU accession referendum to be included in constitution

The results of the referendum on Moldova’s accession to the European Union, which is planned to be held along with the presidential elections in 2024, will be included in the Constitution, reads the draft amendments to the basic law, published on the website of the Moldovan parliament, Report informs via TASS.
According to the document, the preamble of the constitution will be supplemented with the words “recognizing the European identity of the people of the Republic of Moldova, declaring integration into the European Union as the strategic goal of the Republic of Moldova.” It is also proposed to add a new paragraph to the Basic Law, which introduces the “priority of EU regulations over contrary provisions of domestic laws.”
