Protesting Polish farmers block the Barwinek checkpoint on border with Slovakia

Protesting Polish farmers have blocked the border with Slovakia near the Barwinek checkpoint.

Report informs via foreign media that several dozen farmers have set up a cordon on the road near the checkpoint and are not allowing trucks with license plates from Ukraine, Moldova and other countries to enter or leave Poland. Cars with EU license plates can pass freely.

The police are present at the scene and do not interfere with what is happening.

Farmer protests have been taking place in Poland since the beginning of February. The main demands of the protesters are to stop the import of agricultural products from Ukraine into Poland and abandon the environmental plans of the European Union (the so-called Green Deal), which involves achieving zero emissions into the atmosphere by 2050.
