Radicals who took hostages in Russian prison demand $2M

Citizens of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan are believed to have taken part in the hostage taking in Russia's Volgograd Colony No. 19, according to the Mash Telegram channel, Report informs.

According to the channel, photos of possible hostage takers have appeared online, featuring citizens of Uzbekistan Toshev Ramzindin and Khusinov Temur, as well as citizens of Tajikistan Navruzi Rustamchon and Toshov Nazirchon. In one of the photos, 23-year-old Rustamchon Navruzi poses with a flag of the banned ISIS on the territory of the colony.

It is noted that three of them were convicted on drug charges, and Khusinov was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm. All of them are being tried for the first time.

The channel also reports that the Federal Penitentiary Service will check IK-19 and its employees, due to whose fault, presumably, the prisoners got knives and symbols of the banned ISIS. The criminals paid 3,000 rubles ($32.82) for each knife. Earlier, the deputy head of IK-19 Grigory Belenkov was sentenced to 7 years for accepting a bribe of 320,000 rubles ($3,501) from prisoners.

Prisoners of Colony No. 19 took employees of the correctional facility hostage in Russia's Volgograd region, Report informs referring to TASS.

The incident occurred in the maximum security penal colony (IK-19) in the Volgograd region.

"At a meeting of the disciplinary commission of the colony, several prisoners seized the employees," the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service reported.

According to some Russian media, three people were killed, at least two - a prison employee and a prisoner - managed to escape. They were hospitalized with stab wounds.
