Pope: Vatican ready to do everything possible for ceasefire in Ukraine

The Vatican is developing contacts for rapprochement of positions on Ukraine and is ready to do everything possible for mediation in the negotiations, as well as a ceasefire, the Pope said in an interview with La Stampa newspaper, Report informs referring to foreign media.
He noted that the Vatican is constantly monitoring the development of the situation. He expressed the opinion that peace between Moscow and Kyiv is possible.
The Secretariat of State is exploring any possibility that could lead to a real ceasefire, he said.
Pope Francis also noted that the Vatican is committed to the policy of providing humanitarian support to the people of Ukraine, adding that the Holy See is doing everything possible to help the captives.
