Polish FM: NATO countries not inclined to accept Ukraine into alliance in near future

NATO countries aren't inclined to accept Ukraine into the alliance in the near future, since they don't intend to participate on its behalf in hostilities, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, Report informs referring to TASS.

"NATO countries have no appetite to do this now," the diplomat noted.

He emphasized that NATO guarantees to the bloc's members should only be provided when the alliance is "ready to go to war on behalf of the country."

Sikorski added that almost all NATO countries are ready to provide long-term military assistance to Kyiv.
