Afghanistan's oldest resident died at the age of 144 in the province of Samangan, Report informs, citing Interfax.
Mawlavi Muhammad Amin Totor died yesterday in Ruyi Du Ab district in the north of the country, Afghan National Television reported.
Muhammad Amin Totor, known as "Mawlavi the Great", was one of the famous scholars and elders of the country. Ninety years ago, during the reign of Amanullah Khan, he graduated from the Deoband Madrasah in India and survived 15 governments. According to relatives, Mawlavi Muhammad Amin was married four times and has seen several generations of his children.
