Number of valid Schengen visas for Russian citizens disclosed

The number of valid Schengen visas for Russian citizens doesn’t exceed one million, EU Commission’s spokesperson on home affairs, migration, and internal security Anitta Hipper said, Report informs referring to Politico.

“As of September 1, the number of valid visas for Russian citizens is 963,189,” she said.

Earlier, Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics stated that this figure is 12 million.

He also reported that the Council of Foreign Ministers of the European Union agreed that the countries bordering Russia might establish a ban on the entry of Russian citizens on Schengen visas.
