Number of internet users in China exceeds 1 billion

The total number of internet users in China increased by 7.42 million compared to December 2023, reaching 1.1 billion by the end of June 2024, Report informs, citing the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC).
During this period, young people aged 10-19 accounted for 49% of all new internet users.
The short video segment is growing rapidly, with 37.3% of the total number of internet users in the country using relevant programs.
Most Chinese users access the internet via mobile devices. The country is actively developing fifth-generation communications (5G), with 3.92 million base stations installed for this communication standard by mid-June.
