The Norwegian government has ordered more NASAMS air defense systems from Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace (KONGSBERG), which will strengthen the country's defense capabilities to combat aerial threats, Report informs via Finansavisen.
The contract has a value of NOK 2.7 billion ($235.6 million).
The contract with the Norwegian Defence Material Agency includes new multi-missile canister launchers and new Fire Distribution Centers for NASAMS,
replacing equipment previously donated to Ukraine as well as building up further capacity.
In June, Norway announced investments in new NASAMS systems that included an option to make further acquisitions. The option has now been exercised.
