North Korea sends garbage-filled balloons to South Korea amid tensions

On Saturday, North Korea once again sent balloons filled with garbage and manure to South Korea, escalating the ongoing tensions between the two nations, Report informs.

According to the Yonhap news agency, citing the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) of the Republic of Korea's armed forces, this provocative act follows a similar incident earlier in the week.
Between May 28 and 29, Pyongyang launched approximately 260 balloons carrying trash and animal extrements across the border, in retaliation to Seoul's distribution of anti-North Korean leaflets.

The JCS has advised the public not to touch the objects and to report any sightings to nearby military or police authorities, warning of potential damage caused by the balloons.

South Korea's Defense Minister, Shin Won Sik, strongly condemned North Korea's actions, labeling the launch of garbage and manure-filled balloons as a "shameful."
