North Korea has once again begun launching balloons filled with trash towards the Republic of Korea (ROK), according to a mass email from the Seoul Metropolitan Government
This latest incident comes after a similar action on September 18. From September 4, North Korea launched balloons for five consecutive days. The DPRK attempted to repeat the launch on the night of September 12, but the balloons failed to cross the border. The provocative act was repeated on September 14 and 15.
This peculiar campaign began in late May, and since then, thousands of balloons have been released. Pyongyang had previously stated that they would not leave the dropping of propaganda leaflets by South Korean activists unanswered.
