Boris Pistorius became the new minister of defense of Germany, Report informs with reference to foreign media.
He succeeded Christine Lambrecht, who resigned on January 16. The reason was that in recent months she has been criticized for the state of the material and technical base of the German Armed Forces.
Among the possible candidates for this post, politicians indicated the head of the department of Federal Chancellor Wolfgang Schmidt and the co-chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Germany Lars Klingbeil, the current Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Hubertus Heil.
