Netherlands to send 5,000 soldiers to NATO exercises

More than 5,000 Dutch soldiers will participate in the major NATO exercise from next week, Report informs, citing Netherlands Posts.
The 31 countries will together send 90,000 soldiers to the exercise called Steadfast Defender 2024. The exercise must ensure that assistance between NATO member states is well coordinated in the event that one of the member states is attacked.
The Navy is participating in Steadfast Defender 2024 with two ships. The Zr.Ms. Johan de Witt and Zr.Ms. Karel Doorman will practice north of Norway. 850 soldiers from the Navy are participating.
