Nearly 1 million earthquake-resistant houses to be built in Istanbul

About one million earthquake-resistant buildings will be built in Istanbul, Türkiye, the Minister of Environment, Urban Planning, and Climate Change of Türkiye, Mehmet Ozhaseki, said, Report informs.
According to him, it is planned to finish their construction in a few years.
"12 areas where new residential houses will be built in Istanbul have been identified," he said.
The minister noted that about 1,500,000 out of 7,500,000 houses in Istanbul are considered unsafe for living.
Thus, 600,000 of them must be urgently dismantled.
