NATO to change Russia’s status in new strategy

In the new NATO strategy, Russia will not be listed as an alliance partner, Italy’s ambassador to NATO, Francesco Maria Talo, said, Report informs, citing foreign media sources.
According to him, the new strategy will include China, which “belongs to the zone of interests” of the alliance.
“We will correct the status of Russia, which was considered a partner in the previous document, we will insert China, which did not exist yet,” Mr. Talo said in an interview with the Italian ANSA agency.
In addition, according to the Italian ambassador, the Madrid summit will also consider the issue of Finland and Sweden joining the alliance.
