Mossad chief arrives in Rome for crucial Gaza talks

The head of Israel's intelligence agency, Mossad, David Barnea, has arrived in Rome to participate in a crucial meeting aimed at advancing an agreement on the Gaza Strip. The meeting, which brings together key players from Israel, the United States, Qatar, and Egypt, is set to discuss a potential ceasefire and the release of hostages held by militants in Gaza.

According to Dmitry Gendelman, an advisor to the Israeli Prime Minister's Office, Barnea will meet with William Burns, the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister of Qatar, and Abbas Kamel, the head of Egypt's intelligence service.

On July 26, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed former US President Donald Trump during a meeting in Florida that he would be sending a team of negotiators to Rome to discuss a deal for the release of the captives held in Gaza.
