Traces of narcotic substances were found in the restrooms of the Finnish Parliament after a Christmas party, according to an investigation conducted by the broadcasting company Yle, Report informs.
Samples containing traces of cocaine, amphetamine, and ecstasy were taken in December from men's and women's restrooms on the fifth floor of the parliament building.
This floor hosted parties for parliamentary factions. No prohibited substances were found in samples taken from other floors.
The publication specifies that besides parliamentarians, the holiday events were attended by parliamentary group staff, ministerial assistants, and journalists.
The secretary general of the Finnish legislative body, Antti Pelttari, called the discovery of narcotic substances "a concerning event."
