Gurgen Arsenyan, a member of the Armenian Parliament from the ruling Civil Agreement party, has had his powers terminated, according to the press service of the parliament, Report informs via Armenian media.
The decision was made based on Arsenyan’s resignation statement and in accordance with the law, according to the protocol signed by Speaker of National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan.
Earlier, it was reported that Gurgen Arsenyan submitted an application to renounce his mandate.
Media outlets in the country suggest that this move is connected to Arsenyan’s possible appointment as Armenia’s ambassador to Russia.
