Measles cases in Mongolia climb to 13

The number of measles cases in Mongolia has risen to 13, Report informs via TASS.
As of August 30, 2024, one additional case of measles has been detected in Mongolia. Vaccination efforts are ongoing for 5,800 unvaccinated children, medical workers, and government employees," the statement said.
Authorities at Chinggis Khaan International Airport continue to screen incoming travelers for symptoms of measles to prevent further spread of the disease.
In a proactive move, the Mongolian government plans to vaccinate all children before the start of the new school year to curb the outbreak. Previously, the Health Ministry had advised limiting travel to the Mongolian province bordering Russia, where measles cases had doubled in a single day.
