Mayor: Azerbaijanis in Irpen fought shoulder-to-shoulder with me

"Azerbaijanis from the city of Irpen participated in defense of our city and fought shoulder-to-shoulder with me here," Mayor of Irpin Oleksandr Markushin told Report.

"During the war, the Azerbaijani side provided us with great humanitarian support. With this, Azerbaijan showed that it is a great friend not only of Ukraine but also of the "hero city" Irpen," he noted.

He emphasized that Azerbaijan assisted Ukraine in a centralized manner:

"You are a true friend of our Ukraine and our city. As for humanitarian aid, it was delivered to Kyiv, and then to cities that needed help the most. We are grateful for that. At that time, we were in great need of humanitarian aid. After the end of the military operations in Irpen, we received humanitarian assistance," he added.
