A man armed with a knife attacked visitors to the mausoleum of Imam Reza in the Iranian city of Mashhad, Report informs via Iranian media.
According to the Mehr news agency, two people died and one was injured.
All the victims were students of religious educational institutions. The reasons for the attack are being investigated.
The mausoleum of Imam Reza in Mashhad is considered the main site of pilgrimage in Iran for Shiite Muslims. According to Iranian sources, 15-20 million people visit the shrine every year.
