Major French airports evacuated after 'threats of attack'

Six French airports have been evacuated on Wednesday due to bomb alerts, according to police sources.

Report informs via foreign media that Lyon, Lille, Toulouse, Paris Beauvais, Nice and Nantes airports were evacuated on Wednesday morning after what police described as bomb threats.

The evacuation would allow authorities to "clear up any doubts" that the threats might be real, a police source told AFP.

All flights in and out of the affected airports have been suspended, so passengers can expect delays of several hours.

France is on the highest state of terror alert after an attack by a radical Islamist at a school on Friday.

Since the alert, national sites including the Palace of Versailles and the Louvre gallery have been evacuated after bomb threats, all of which turned out to be false alarms.
