An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 hit Afghanistan near the border with Tajikistan, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

Report informs citing RIA Novosti that the tremors were recorded at 04.16 UTC.

The epicenter was located 205 kilometers east of the city of Kunduz and at at a depth of 209 kilometers, seismologists say.
