French President Emmanuel Macron will visit New Caledonia during the day, overwhelmed by mass protests of supporters of the independence of the archipelago have been taking place since May 13, the official representative of the French government, Prisca Thévenot said, Report informs via TASS.
During the Council of Ministers meeting, the President [Macron] said that he will go to the site (New Caledonia) this evening, she said during a briefing following the Council of Ministers meeting.
Earlier it was reported that the French Defense Council, chaired by Macron, decided to send additional military contingent to New Caledonia against the background
