French President Emmanuel Macron says Hamas should have no part in governing Gaza, in remarks on Monday as he visited Egypt, Report informs via The Times of Israel.
Macron stated that the Palestinian Islamist terrorists should “no longer constitute a threat to Israel” while reiterating his “full support for the reconstruction plan for Gaza” endorsed by the Arab League.
French president also said he is strongly opposed to any displacement or annexation in Gaza and the West Bank.
“This would be a violation of international law and a serious threat to the security of the entire region, including Israel,” he noted as he met his Egyptian counterpart, President Abdel-Fatteh el-Sissi.
