Dialogue between the French government and trade union representatives on the issue of pension reform continues, said French President Emmanuel Macron, who paid a working visit to the Savines-le-Lac commune in southeastern France, Report informs referring to TASS.
“The dialogue continues,” he said, adding that nothing can justify the violence that occurs during demonstrations against pension reform.
“Now the Constitutional Council must consider the bill with wisdom and calmness,” Macron said.
Earlier, the French government took a controversial step and decided to pass a resonant law to raise the retirement age without a vote in the National Assembly - the lower house of parliament. This decision caused riots throughout the country.
