Lithuania sends Turkish drone to Ukraine after crowdfunding campaign for Ukraine

Lithuania has already sent the Bayraktar military drone to Ukraine, which was purchased with Lithuanian money, country's Minister of Defense Arvydas Anushauskas said, according to Report.

"The first drone leaves Lithuania. The Lithuanian Army took care of all logistics, and the Ministry of Defense took care of procurement contracts, organized all legal formalities in accordance with legal requirements, so that the drone with weapons could reach Ukraine," he wrote.

Last month, journalist and TV presenter Andrius Tapinas raised almost €6 million for the Bayraktar TB2 drone with the people of Lithuania in three days of fundraising, after which its Turkish manufacturer announced that it would give away the drone for free.

The Lithuanians used part of the collected funds to equip the drone with ammunition, and the rest of the funds went to humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

Despite the ordered ammunition, the Turkish company provided Lithuania with additional ammunition for the drone.
