The International Court of Justice (ICJ) announced that Lithuania, Latvia, and New Zealand are ready to support Kyiv's claim against Moscow about the genocide in Ukraine, ICJ said in a statement.
Report informs, citing Anadolu, that the three countries declared their readiness to join the process of Russia committing genocide against the Ukrainian people.
The court recalled that other countries whose interests are affected might join the lawsuits between other states.
Three states that are parties to the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (New York, December 9, 1948) are ready to join the suit, the report says.
States that become eligible to participate in the trial will be able to make statements at hearings and make comments and demands.
The International Court of Justice asked Kyiv and Moscow to present their position on the appeal of the three countries.
On March 16, 2022, the ICJ ruled that "Russia must immediately stop the 'military operation' on the territory of Ukraine."
