Le Pen calls Macron’s statement about strikes on Russia step towards world war

The position of French President Emmanuel Macron, who supported Ukrainian strikes on military targets on Russian territory, is another step towards world war, President of the National Rally faction in the French Parliament, Marine Le Pen, said on the radio station Franceinfo, Report informs.

“Macron wants France to enter the war. This statement was an additional step towards it. I am against this and believe that this creates a colossal risk for the safety of our citizens,” she said.

She noted that she supports the supply of only defensive weapons to Kyiv.

“Just like the US and Germany, I am against allowing Ukraine to use Western-supplied weapons to hit targets on Russian territory. This is a mechanism for entering the third world war. I am against anything that could create the risk of a global conflict, where France will be on the front line,” she added.

According to Le Pen, it is necessary to return to negotiations, and Macron is instead preparing society for the announcement of sending troops to Ukraine.
