Lavrov: US wants to monopolize mediation efforts in Middle East

The United States wants to monopolize mediation efforts in the Middle East, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in his statement following his participation in the high-level week of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, Report informs.

"The Americans have closed all mechanisms for assisting Middle East processes, primarily this applies to the international mediators' quartet, which includes Russia, the US, the UN, and the European Union. Now you can see that the Americans want to monopolize mediation efforts, organizing various formats sometimes with our Jordanian colleagues, sometimes with Egyptian, sometimes with Qatari colleagues, but still they try to lead all of this themselves," he stated.
