Lavrov: 'Russia-US meetings should not be held for sake of show'

"Normal relations between Russia and the United States are in everyone's interest," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with TASS, Report informs.

He said that both states, as superpowers, bear special responsibility for the fate of humanity: "But Washington continues its hostile actions as usual. We have repeatedly emphasized at various levels, including the highest levels, that we do not shy away from constructive dialogue, but it is necessary to create conditions for its establishment. These meetings should not be held for the sake of a show."

Sergey Lavrov said that Moscow is ready to discuss security issues with Washington in the context of Ukraine and on a broader, strategic level.
