Lavrov: AUKUS may form prerequisites for new round of arms race

The trilateral partnership of Australia, the UK and the US (AUKUS) may provoke tensions and set the stage for a new round of the arms race, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on March 1, speaking at a session of the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva in the format of a video message, Report informs referring to TASS.

In mid-September, Australia struck a defense and security deal with the UK and the US under the new AUKUS partnership.
