Latvia intends to unilaterally terminate the agreement with Belarus on cross-border cooperation, according to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development of Latvia, Report informs.
The ministry explained the decision to terminate the contract by the fact that Belarus supports the Russian war in Ukraine, thereby violating its obligations to the international community.
The issue is already on the agenda of the government.
The agreement was signed and entered into force in 1998, after which it was automatically extended, since none of the parties expressed their desire to terminate it.
