Kallas calls on EU countries to increase military aid to Ukraine

The European Union (EU) countries have allocated €23 billion in military aid to Ukraine for 2025, but support for this country needs to be increased, according to Kaja Kallas, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Report informs.

“First, of course, we start with Ukraine. We see the deadliest attacks in this war, civilians are being killed. And, it is already one month into this period where Ukraine agreed to unconditional ceasefire,” Kallas told reporters ahead of a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg.

“We have not seen that from the Russian side. What is clear is that we need to support Ukraine more, and I am happy to see that we already have two thirds of my ammunition initiative together. But of course, we need to do more. This year, European countries have already committed to €23 billion, which is more than last year, but we also need to put the pressure on Russia, so that they would stop this war,” she added.
