Kaja Kallas: Transatlantic unity necessary to end war in Ukraine

EU foreign ministers expressed support for US steps that will lead to a fair peace in Ukraine, the head of European diplomacy Kaja Kallas said following an extraordinary meeting of the Council of EU Foreign Ministers in a video format, Report informs.

"Transatlantic unity, support for Ukraine and pressure on Russia is how we will end this war and prevent further Russian aggression in Europe," Kallas said.

In the meantime, the EU is working on new sanctions against Russia, increasing military aid and additional support for Ukraine's budget needs and the process of its accession to the EU, the head of European diplomacy noted.

The second issue on the agenda of the informal meeting was the war in Gaza.

"The war in Gaza grows more dangerous by the hour. EU priorities remain humanitarian support, including access for NGOs, with an immediate ceasefire and release of remaining hostages. If a military solution was possible, the war would already be over," she noted.
