JD Vance: US to withdraw from Ukraine peace process if Moscow, Kiev fail to reach agreement

US Vice President James David Vance has reiterated that the US is prepared to stop participating in the peace process to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian conflict if Moscow and Kyiv fail to reach an agreement, Report informs.

He made the remark while answering journalists’ questions before flying from Rome to Washington.

"We want to see results. And the first important result that we wanted to see and that we were happy about is that we wanted Russia and Ukraine to put a real peace proposal on the negotiating table," he said.

The vice president stressed that peace talks are "at a bit of impasse," but the United States stands ready to be a partner in bringing peace.

"We're going to try to end it, but if we can't end it, we're eventually going to say: 'You know what? That was worth a try, but we're not doing anymore.,'" Vance stated.
