Japanese fighters took off to escort Russian military aircraft over the Sea of Japan, according to the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Self-Defense Force, Report informs referring to Interfax.
The flights were recorded on April 25. First, a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft flew along the western coast of Hokkaido and Honshu.
Then a Russian Il-38 patrol aircraft was spotted near the island of Honshu.
In this regard, fighters from the Northern Air Command Support Flight of the Japanese Air Self-Defense Force took to the air.
