Japan and Germany in final talks for specialized consultation mechanism

Japan and Germany are currently in the final stage of negotiations to create a specialized consultation mechanism focused on economic security matters, Report informs via Yomiuri.
The final agreement is expected to be reached during the visit of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to Germany, scheduled for July 12. The purpose of creating such a mechanism is to coordinate policies against economic pressures through trade restrictions.
Representatives from the foreign affairs and trade ministries of both countries will engage in consultations. The focus will be on enhancing semiconductor supply chains and advancing artificial intelligence technologies.
