Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has commented on the situation in Afghanistan in his interview with the Hurriyet Newspaper.
Report informs that touching upon the events at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Çavuşoğlu described the events as chaos: "We are on the military wing at Kabul airport. There is complete chaos in the civil one. At present, the evacuation of our citizens has been suspended for two days. We will continue to work after the security issues are resolved."
Expressing hope that the forces in Afghanistan will reach a peaceful agreement, he said that a commission had been set up for this purpose:
"A commission has been created in Afghanistan for dialogues with the Taliban, including Hamid Karzai, Abdullah Abdullah, and Hekmatyar. These are people who have participated in discussions with the group before."
Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu also commented on the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan.
"It is not right for the United States to leave Afghanistan in a hasty and unplanned manner," the FM stressed.
